The Rabbit Habit: Adoptables

These Rabbits in the Philadelphia Area Need Your Help to Save Them!

You may adopt a bunny for a $50 donation  to help cover some of our expenses for neutering or spaying ($45 per bunny if you adopt multiples). These donations are completely tax-deductible. An application must be submitted and approved for adoption before making an appointment to view the bunnies. If your browser does not handle forms, we have a printable version on this page.

You may e-mail or call The Rabbit Habit Rescue/Adoption Chair at Email The Rabbit Habit or 215-517-7067, if you have any questions regarding our foster bunnies or bunny care.

See also the Alumni page to see whom we've successfully adopted out in the past! To visit those fosters who've left us in less happy ways, visit the Memoriam page.

Please note, we do not "ship" rabbits. All approved adopters must be met in person.

Our Foster Bunnies:
Lilly: an adult female cream-colored bunny.
Lilly was Bundergrounded from Connecticut where she and seven others were to be euthanized in a shelter for lack of space. Lilly and son, Eli, came into our care with the help of a volunteer transporter. Lilly is beautiful and nice.

Camille: an adult, female Netherland Dwarf mix with white fur and stunningly blue eyes.
Camille was abandoned outdoors to fend for herself. Fortunately a neighbor found her before a predator did. She is a tiny, cutie who needs lots of TLC and time out of a cage. Camille is learning to enjoy veggies and attention from people.

Cheyenne: a white and gray dwarf Spot.
Cheyenne was born at an SPCA, and transported the The Rabbit Habit with her mother, Ave, and siblings. Cheyenne is an intelligent and inquisitive little girl. She is social and would probably to well with a bunny companion.

Deliah: a black and white dwarf Spot, and also an Ave baby.
Deliah continues to blossom into a wonderful girl. She is sweet and friendly, curious and smart. Deliah is adorable when she sticks her nose through the cage wire in order for it to be kissed.

Cherry and Zoey: a mother/daughter bonded pair of Spots.
Cherry was let loose, along with three other bunnies, two of which were male. Cherry had already had one litter prior to being caught, along with all of the other loose bunnies, and gave birth again in the home of individual rabbit rescuer, that night. Cherry and her babies came into The Rabbit Habit at two weeks of age. Zoey was the runt of the litter, and to help her grow, she was left with Cherry, alone, at seven weeks of age. Zoey made up for her lack of size in not time, and is now staying with her mother forever. A beautiful, and loving pair.

Dory: another Cherry baby, a female Dwarf Spot.
Dory is very active, inquisitive, intelligent, and friendly. She likes to figure things out, and her wheels are always turning. Dory will be an interactive and entertaining friend.

Jojo: a lovely chocolate-colored, medium-sized female Mix.
Jojo was abandoned, then found in the middle of Grant Avenue in Philadelphia. A caring family took Jojo in and nursed her injuries, which remarkably, were not life-threatening. At first, Jojo had a difficult time trusting people, but she is showing signs of change as she receives gentle, loving care in our shelter, and she is now interacting well.

Lance and Twinkle: a brother and sister bonded pair.
Lance is a tan and white Spot and Twinkle is a black and white broken Mini-Lop. Lance is slightly more shy than sister Twinkle, though still easy-going. They are both very sweet and like to be petted. They are very easy bunnies who would love to flop on the floor of a special adopter.

Florrie: an Agouti Mini-Lop.
Florrie came to us along with brothers Luther and Boyce. Florrie is a shy sweetie. She is an easy bunny, who enjoys her space, yet is also open to gentle petting. Florrie would relish a quiet home with someone who is willing to give her the space to be herself and to blossom.

Chrissy: An Agouti-colored dwarf female
Chrissy was let loose in a campground on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Chrissy was caught, and made the 20 plus hour trip to Philadelphia, by the mom of two of our Boarding bunnies. Chrissy is making up for the lack of food, water and sleep now. She is very friendly, loves to be petted and has a lot of energy.

Linus: A black and white dwarf Spot male, born in May of 2007.
He is gentle and sweet, and loves to get lots of pets. Linus likes attention and people.
Rufus: A black and white dwarf Spot male, born in May of 2007.
He likes to have fun, and enjoys running around. Rufus is sweet-natured and handsome.
Liesel: A black and white Dutch mix, born in May of 2007.
She enjoys meeting people and is very curious. Liesel has grace and elegance.
Colin: A chocolate male Dutch.
Colin was loose outdoors and fending for himself, when a caring individual took him in until a rescue could be found. Colin is an easy bunny - gentle and quiet. He likes pets and kisses from familiar people and is as handsome as can be.
Bria: A black and white, female Spot.
Bria is learning to live alone, as her mother recently passed away. Bria had been with her mother since birth, nearly two years. Once shy, Bria is gaining more confidence and enjoys limited amounts of petting, as well as more visual interaction. Strikingly beautiful, Bria would probably do well bonded with an easy-going male.
Deirdre: A white Jersey Woolly Female with a gray nose and ears.
Deirdre had been at a kill shelter, where nobody wanted her, for seven months. Deirdre is intelligent, curious and visually interactive. She has some issues with protecting her cage, but does fine in a larger space. Deirdre has the most remarkably beautiful coat that never seems to get tangles. She is an active and tiny cutie.
Mitzi: A cinnamon-colored Dwarf Sable female.
Mitzi was found wandering loose in Philadelphia. In spite of it, she was in good shape, and came into foster care at a normal weight and a healthy coat. Mitzi is a stunning beauty, who enjoys eye contact, pets and kisses. She is quite the little lady and would love a safe home with caring people.
Thorn: A white and gray, male Spot.
Thorn was set loose in a shopping center by a busy highway, along with a brother and a father. Captured by, and safe in foster care with, The Rabbit Habit, he is looking for his forever home. Thorn is a handsome fellow who loves his toys. He is healthy and strong, and loves to run and explore.
Cholly: A male New Zealand White.
Cholly came from a high-kill, local shelter that had him ear-marked to be euthanized due to his jumpiness. When Cholly came into our quiet, loving shelter, he was on high-alert and very nervous. It didn't take him long to realize that he was safe and would be treated gently and with respect. Cholly's confidence is blossoming, and he is discovering the joys of hay, toys and attention.
Reese: A male Dwarf Himalayan.
Reese came in from a challenged shelter where he was in jeopardy of being euthanized due to missing half of his right ear. Reese is now safe in our care, where he loves to do the bunny flop, get lots of attention and interact with people.
Rabbit Habit Sanctuary Rabbits -- Permanent Residents of our Shelter:
Dinah and Dalton
Dinah and Dalton are a medium-sized, black dwarf mix brother and sister pair. They were born feral and lived that way for five to seven months before being taken into foster care. Dalton is a bit less fearful of people than Dinah is, but both need an understanding family or individual willing to give them room to grow at their own pace.
Sophie & Pie
Sophie & Pie are a bonded mother and son pair. Both were feral at one time, and captured before more breeding occurred. Pie was caught quite young and is more easily handled than Sophie, but with lots of TLC, she could settle more.
Hope and Mochi: a friendly pair of tiny bunnies.
Hope is a black Netherland Dwarf and Mochi is a dwarf English Spot. These two are very devoted to one another, yet enjoy interacting with people too. They look forward to veggie time and like to hang out in their wooden house. Hope and Mochi would raise the “aww” factor in a loving home.

Marie: an adult female white and black spot.
She is a medium bunny girl and very pretty. She is shy, but sweet. Marie was found wandering around a watershed in Princeton. She was lucky to be caught by a caring Watershed Educator before she was caught by foxes.

Hoppy: an adult, black, female Dutch Mix.
Hoppy was loose, and suspected feral in NE Philly. We wouldn't be surprised if Hoppy is a sister to Rabbit Habit foster, Sophie. She is a shy, but sweet girl who will be having her incisors removed in December 2003 due to a severe malocclusion. Hoppy will need her veggies cut up, but will be able to eat fine, otherwise, on her own.

Melody: An adult, black female rabbit.
She is another Simone baby. She is all black and really pretty. She is starting to calm down and enjoys her nose rubbed. She needs some extra attention to get accustomed to people.
Cookie and Babette: a large bonded pair.
Cookie is a white and gray mix male and Babette is a New Zealand White female. Both bunnies are a bit shy, but are coming around more each day. They are sweet, easy to handle, and love to explore. These bunnies must be adopted as a pair.

Bijou
Bijou is a medium-sized, black dwarf mix male. He tends to be on the shy side. Bijou loves to eat and explore, but needs patience and TLC to help blossom.
